Paint 3D causes detach problems

Any time I turn on SB2, resume from sleep, or occasionally while using it, the Paint 3D app will start in the background and prevents the screen from detaching.
I've tried clearing the app's data, but I have not found a solution to this problem aside from uninstallation using PowerShell which is something I don't want to do. Does anyone experience this?

Is Paint 3D enabled to run on startup? Go to Task Manager > Startup and if it's enabled, try disabling it.

Have you tried a different login? I've seen local profile issues cause many odd problems. It's easy to test and verify whether it occurs for a different user.

I had the same issue on my 15" SB2. It was infuriating. I ended up using PowerShell to force remove Paint3D. Fixed this ridiculous issue. I had to go in and force stop the app before every single detach.

I even had the app turned "off" from running in the background. Didn't matter. Had to totally nuke it from my system. Oh well, I'm sure it was a neat app, but it prevented me from detaching every single time. Nope, had to go.

Do you have Paint 3D set to use the Nvidia DGPU? If you detach and your using the DGPU it's unavailable when using the clipboard alone. I found this out on my Surface Book 1 as it forced me to close the app because the DGPU in unreachable.
