PC grinds to halt after USB3 after sleep/resume

Hi, wonder if anyone can reproduce the issue I'm having with my Windows 8 XE700T1C Smart PC Pro...

After resuming from sleep at least once since restart, any USB device plugged into the USB3 port (the one at the top of the tablet itself, not those on the keyboard dock) will cause the CPU to run flat out and the computer will run very slowly. Checking Task Manager will show high CPU usage. Removing the USB device does not help, only way to fix is a restart.

All Samsung/Windows updates have been applied.

Just wondering if this is a problem with the device, drivers, or something I've installed.

Thanks

Could be a silly answer but...

Could the USB have a virus? Or has a pre-installed program that is memory intensive?
