Pc is stuck at updating, what do I do?

I'm on 8.1, I wanted to restart my computer but then it started updating, normally this only takes like 10 minutes... It has been stuck at update 8 out of 10 for almost an hour now! So what do I do? Will I mess up my pc by turning it off now?
