People Hub History Repopulation Error

Everytime I go into the people hub to see the most recent messages, emails, etc. from a contact via History the History repopulates. I mean that it does this from scratch every time I access anyone's History. So my wife sends me an email and go to her history and it starts loading everything she's ever sent me. If I wait for it to finish, leave, and come back it will do it all over again. Like it forgets everything it just did and has to do it again. This happens for everyone regardless of type of message, date or quantity of messages, or whether the contact is pinned to the start screen or not.

Now Nokia, ATT (this is a Lumia 920), and Windows phone support can't do anything except advise a factory reset
the last factory reset bricked my phone (this is a refurbished, warranty replacement).

Any ideas how to get the history to work properly without a factory reset?

I notice it most for my wife where it takes about a minute to repopulate when all I want to do is get to the most recent email. I usually have to swipe to move up to the top of the list as soon as it starts and then I font have to wait but it is still a pain. I was hoping gdr2 might have some random improvement that might fix it but ATT is taking their time.

In the case of my wife I imagine it is mostly about the 5 years of content for the associated accounts. I wonder of its just the two of is having this issue, lol
