Phone cases, front flip or side flip?

I have always had a front flip cover for my phone and am really happy with one. I have just received my new phone and need to buy a cover and I am wondering if I am missing anything that the side flips may have?

For me, front flip is better as it's easier to hold when using the phone (voice calls). With side flip I have to bend the cover to hold the phone during calls.

The disadvantage of front flip is that they cover the USB port, making it awkward to charge the phone.
