Phone hot for no reason

I was not using my phone for like 1 hour.... When I picked it up, I found it extremely hot - like playing wordament for several hours, and the battery dropped from nearly full to like 15%.... Anyone has any similar experience?

Could be the NFC trying to find something to talk to.

How is your signal? If the device is constantly searching for a signal, and the signal is weak, that could cause the device to get warm. Poor signal will also drain the battery.

I turned NFC off long ago to preserve battery, so it should not be NFC

um... I guess it's average ATT. I do have very poor ATT reception at my work location, but in that situation, the phone doesn't get hot in any way.

No, I don't do podcasts. But GPS is enabled

Mine would get extremely hot and battery life was bad. Then it stopped getting hot, only warm and battery life increased. Now the battery life is still good, but it's been getting a bit warm recently.
