WOW!!! How is that possible!!! There are actually threads on this problem itself, no one really knows why it keeps piling up. Some have this problem some like myself don't =/

its all the other stuff you have on your phone in the other apps. They store their data on your phone too.

I am just wondering what is supposed to be saved in other anyway ?
Is it for cash or cookies or what ?

Actually I have fewer app and most of them are games and read only apps.
I also think like you and find out I have an e-book app which contains a lot of books and magazines. So I uninstalled and delete its data, remaining, it was free my phone up only 100+ MB 0_o
I have no idea to do so, I dont want to delete my photos or videos since it doesnt help much.

The "Other" category contains storage that does not belong to the Windows Phone OS itself; for instance, storage which belongs to third-party applications, etc. You've said that you only have a few applications installed, so either they're HUGE applications, your phone is acting up, or you underestimate how many are installed -- I have 56 installed, which use just a hair over 2GB of space; per your screenshot, yours take up more than double that amount of room. More than likely, some of these applications are causing the problem...if you have games installed, each of those will save game progress to "Other"; if you've downloaded maps for use with Nokia Drive, those will be saved to "Other"; if you download songs to your phone via Spotify, those will be saved to "Other"; etc. It's hard to give you more direction without knowing what's installed, but your apps are almost certainly what's causing the space issue.

I also have the same idea with you, but when I look into the apps I have installed on my phone, all of them are one way communicated application (says apps that dont need to store any datas), I am not sure that Games are counted into the App part (4.62 GB) or not, but I thinkthe games are included in there because I have light apps only.
It maybe causes of offline maps, but once I downloaded, it said something arounf 50MB - 100MB (I am sure because I have slow internet connection to download thoses things)
I dont have any download accelerator thing (as you mentioned Spotify) all the musics are synced with my pc.
I have MetroTube app with 3 music videos downloaded, but I dont think it is over a GB.
I am trying figure out. If unfortunately, I might need to factory reset it. But before I factory reset I will delete each app to see what is the mysery other storage consume on my phone in order to help another who face the same problem.

P.S. Actually I used this phone only for texting (Facebook, whatsapp, wechat, line, viber, skype), taking photos and videos, edit photo just sometimes. Other than that I do other things on my Nexus 7 tablet.

Yes, your games are counted in "Apps", so your games eat up some of that space. Games also have extra information (ie: Saves, maybe some models/sprites) that will be put into the "Other".

Anyway, it still not makes sense of over 12GB storage used up right.
I'm really confused...

Yesterday, my "other" folder was showing 5.xxgb out of 9.5gb of used space.
For some reason, when I got in my car, it connected online and started playing tracks from the online store via Bluetooth in my car.
As it was a short drive, I left it to play as I'm on an unlimited data plan.
When I had a look at my "other" storage today, it'd jumped up to over 7.56gb since that drive!! No other apps or anything was done on the phone.
Be interesting to see how MS addresses this issue.

In my case storage space is consume by Spotify. I can't get rid of this sh**ty app. It's so full of bugs... I - so stupid - install it, and decide to use offline mode. Then "other" start to increase. I tried to unistall it, restart my phone and nothing... There is no chance to free any memory. Frankly - I don't know to do now. There is always hard reset option, but c'mon - there have to be some way to resolve this problem.
