Phone wifi issues while screen is locked ..

I create hotspot from laptop to use wifi on phone it connects just fine the first time around but when I lock the screen the wifi is automatically disconnected and I have to turn phone's wifi off then on again to connect . Else i get the network with secure below it and when I tap on it it says Your phone couldn't reach WiFi network mHotspot ...

somebody please tell what is this issue .

Make sure that you have enabled "keep Wifi on when screen times out"
To check goto
Settings-> WiFi->advanced->Keep WiFi on when screen times out(enable it by applying tick for that check box).
