I have an HP Stream (no series letter or number)

Intel Celeron N3060 Processor
4GB system memory
32GB eMMC

The only other relevant info I can find about my laptop which I hope will aid in my getting an answer to my question is: there's a set of numbers and letters in the right-hand corner of the sticker I didn't remove when I got it that sequence is:

HP 11-y020wm

The question I have is:

How do I utilize the camera so I can take pictures?

I'd appreciate an answer today, but I'll ecstatic no matter when the answer comes.

There is no camera on the back of this laptop, correct? So, you are asking about the front facing camera over the screen, right?
Have you opened the Camera app from the Start menu?

Like @Scienceguy Labs and @TheNinjaGirl said, using the webcam should be done by launching the camera app. Once there, you should be able to toggle between photo and video recording. I didn't note the specs for the camera, but I think that is a 720 resolution.

If you are going to take a lot of videos, you may need to consider getting an additional drive like a jump drive to store that data.

Yup Golfdiver kinda summed it up. Use the app and switch to photo or video.
ou can also get one of those third party software or app from the internet as well like there is this Ucam with some cool affects and all.
Comes down to your intended usage for the photos though...
