Is it possible to plug in a windows rt device into your computer with micro USB 3.0? And transfer data to it? How would the windows rt file system read the windows 8 one? Thanks

Why would anyone want to do that? It's a PC in it's own right. And if you need to put something on it's storage card just turn off the Lumia 2520 and eject the SD card.

Just go into administrative tools, services. Enable server and put on automatic. The rt device can then see the PC files that are shared for you to copy over WiFi.

The other thing you could do is right click on the left side column of explorer, choose show libraries. Add both machines to home group, share folders out to home group. Done.

You just answered your question. Powering off and ejecting the SD/SIM tray (which already requires its own tiny little tool that you need carried with you), is more of a hassle than using a ubiquitous cable. Not to mention a wired connection is always going to be faster than the wireless methods.
