Poor battery when in poor signal area - advice?

Hi, my battery life is usually excellent, but today I was in a poor signal room for about 8 hours, and the phone was dead within 5-6 hours (0-1 bar, I imagine it's searching for either cell signal or LTE?). Any advice? Thanks!

Turn off LTE or the cell radio completely. The radios use extra power when trying to establish a connection to the cell network.
