Hello All,

10162 just came out and I noticed my download in the updates section was paused at 0% - I've also seen others saying the downloads for them were also stuck at different numbers.

I dug around in the settings deeper and noticed the WORDING on this section - "Download Updates from other PCS IN ADDITION to Microsoft"

That seems awfully Bit Torrent'ish doesn't it? or Peer to Peerish right? - Since all of us are having issues and this tech seems to be pretty new my assumption is this setting is what's messing all of us up, so I TURNED IT ALL OFF, then I went back to the ring settings and took it off Fast, set to slow, then back to fast again to sort of RESET IT - and boom the download started right away and appears VERY fast compared to before. Try it guys and let me know.

Also notice how it says "and PCs on the internet"

Basically implying we are all sort of P2P downloading updates from others.

Thanks! Worked for me. I did what you said, then restarted, It downloaded the update really quick, too quick for my current connection (I'm on a hotel WiFi at the moment). After it downloaded nothing happened, so I checked for updates again, and it is downloading right now. Thanks!

I had this issue on 10162 and two previous builds. The steps below will resolve it without a reboot.

This will reset the Windows update components.

a. Press Windows key + X on the desktop screen of the computer.
b. Select Command Prompt (Admin)
c. On the open Command Prompt window copy and paste the commands (all at once).

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
pause

c. Exit the command prompt and check.
