Possible to switch from Release Preview back to regular production?

At some point in the not too distant future the Redstone branch will become the release preview. I do not want my 950 to update to RS1 until I have seen the feedback from a few folks.

Is it possible to go back to production easily? On my Surface 3 I had to load a recovery image to get back from RS. I am hoping that as I am on TH branch that this won't be required.

Always the same as desktops. Only way is recovering phone with WDRT.
Better for you going on Insider into Settings -> Stop receving builds , and follow instruction

EDIT: I didn't undestrand. Are you Insider with your phone? Whn Redstone will be released, it will be Production

Soooo... You can go Production right now. You won;t take an update until official passes your version number.

However, Release Ring is the staging ground for Production/Official. You are right. Redstone is going to hit Release Ring, but I think when it does it will be in a very stable form, last about 2 weeks or so to shake out the stray bug or two and then hit Production anyway.

Soooo... You could go Production right now and pass on the first Redstone build if you want to wait and see how that affects others.

And, I dont think it will be a long wait either!! Things are screaming along on RS builds, although you wouldn't think it with people still highlighting issues that not everyone experiences. Very stable on 950xl
