I must be missing something on the release of this phone. I have heard (not sure if its true or not), that this phone is a replacement for the 640. It has a smaller screen, a less powerfull processor, a smaller battery, a lesser camera, etc and its going to cost more. I just don't get it. Would someone enlighten me as to how they can try to see this as a replacement for the 640. I really didn't think the 640 needed replacement. Too me the 635/640 have been the two best things Microsoft/Nokia has done in the last year, leave them alone.

I am just as confused as you. Today's event overall was great, but the Lumia Phones part confused me when this came up. It doesn't seem to be better than the 640 in any way that I could find in fact it is worse in the CPU department, and the 640 was already using an aging CPU/GPU combo. Yet it is going to cost more? Why sell the 640 at all then.... or is that it? will they pull the plug on the 640 and 640 XL for fear the non-tech savy would get it confused with the 950 and 950XL and buy it instead? I genuinely want to know because I love my 640, why would anyone buy this over that?
