Posting this here more as a public service message than anything else!
Yesterday, on one of the iMacs I have in my office (no hate please, I have PCs too
), Skype went a little squirrelly on me. I started getting notifications over and over again, and it wouldn't let me go online at all. In fact, the only status I could choose was 'offline', but new messages were still coming in.
I tried logging out, logging in, no fix.
Tried changing my password, logged out, logged in, no fix.
I then uninstalled and reinstalled the app... and after install and letting Skype sit for a few mins, it seems to allow me back online/away/dnd etc.
So - if you find yourself in a similar situation this might be a good fix for ya. Just uninstall/install again.
