Problem updating to Windows Phone 8.1 on Nokia Lumia 920

Hi All,

I got the Windows Phone 8.1 update yesterday and I started the install. However, it took such a long time and also drained the battery like anything, even while my phone was connected to charger. Now, I am not able to install the update, as the phone is not charging. As soon as it starts charging, it also restarts the install, but after a while, either it drains the battery or gets too much heated that it shuts down. It's always in the same loop and I am not able to use my phone any more neither can I complete the 8.1 update.

I would really appreciate if someone can suggest any resolution to the problem.

Try a soft reset - hold power button and volume down button until phone restarts. It has worked for some others who've had problems installing the update.

I just tried that but it didn't help. In fact, my phone has been continuously restarting while I am charging it, and then start the update and gets shut down again. It's the same since yesterday.

That's tough. My only other suggestion is to wipe and reload your phone with either the Nokia Software Recovery Tool or Nokia Care Suite. Maybe someone else has a better idea to try first, though. Good luck!
