Problem updating to Windows Phone 8.1 on Nokia Lumia 920

Hi All,

I got the Windows Phone 8.1 update yesterday and I started the install. However, it took such a long time and also drained the battery like anything, even while my phone was connected to charger. Now, I am not able to install the update, as the phone is not charging. As soon as it starts charging, it also restarts the install, but after a while, either it drains the battery or gets too much heated that it shuts down. It's always in the same loop and I am not able to use my phone any more neither can I complete the 8.1 update.

I would really appreciate if someone can suggest any resolution to the problem.

Make sure you're using the Nokia charger as lower power chargers may not provide enough charge current.

I had a similar issue to you during one update. You may want to try and run the phone so far down that it refuses to power on (only shows the low battery icon and shuts off). Then it may have a chance to charge enough before it switches on.

Shut down the WIFI-Connection on your router and then power up your phone.
