Has anybody else noticed that if your using dual sims. You can only make a call from the number the phone is set to use for mobile data? You can receive calls/texts/etc no problem... just cant seem to make calls. I'm hoping that this is just me... and this is not a bug... :-/

Another weird artifact i noticed if you send an MMS via the number thats not set to be used for mobile data. It tries to send it across the SIM for mobile data, the tower kicks you off... then it typically sends successfully via the nondata sim. Shortly there after the data sim comes back online.

I should probably mention, both Sims are AT&T with similar features.

I believe that all MMS uses the data network while all SMS uses the voice network. Let's assume that Sim1 is your data SIM. When you send an MMS from line 2, the data packets go out on thee only network available (i.e., from Sim1) to the MMS servers on the network run by the carrier for Sim2. That carrier probably firewalls those servers from the general Internet, including from their competitors' networks, which is where you appear to be when using Sim1. As such, you can't send. This is likely the same thing that blocks visual voice mail.

I have two SIMs with the same carrier. I can use MMS from either SIM regardless of which SIM is my active one for data. The reason is that both of them put my phone on the same network so I'm never trying to reach my carrier's MMS server from "off-network."

I don't use mms much on my L950 DS. However since the win10 14390.0 build my non data sim whether sim1 or sim2 runs on G2 network versus G3! Also my sim2 signal drops often as I move within my town!

Chintan Gohel - Yeah, they were stumped at the carrier (AT&T), they are both data/voice/text/mms plans. Which is why i posted here to see if anybody has similar issues.

manicottiK - I figured their MMS servers would be cut off from the outside, there really is no reason to have them being exposed... which makes sense. However, both SIMs are for AT&T... however that could still be an authentication thing, since i think the "username" for MMS for AT&T is your phone number. What carrier are you using?

Netmann - That's interesting, my non-data SIM runs at AT&T-G which i think is 2g as well. It never ran any different...

Also i now noticed that most MMS messages come in as "download" buttons. I have to disconnect/reconnect to AT&T a few times and tap the download buttons on the MMS messages in order to receive them. Also making phone calls from the Non-Data line seems to be intermittent... sometimes i can do it, sometimes the call drops. Is this experience similar to what others see? Can somebody confirm this is expected behavior on AT&T?

Running two AT&T sims, one personal, one business.....non data sim is 2G, always has been for me, zero problems with calls, text, or MMS....works like two separate phones as it should.....

I guess I'm confused. I always run with cell data off (I only turn it on when I check AT&T Visual Voice Mail because it's required for that). Never the less, I still can send and receive text messages with multimedia content (MMS). Based on what I'm reading in this thread that should not be possible.
