Hi,

Might be a really odd question, but is there any way I can project my WP8 Lumia 520 or connect it to a television? It's all very well having PowerPoint Mobile able to view and edit presentations on the phone, but if I can't project them a major chunk of usefulness disappears.

Thanks!

Welcome Cyborg4. There isn't a way at the moment to project your 520's screen onto a TV. There is no HDMI out on any of the Lumia phones so you can't connect them directly to the TV.

There is an app called "Play to". This works through DLNA, but will only show pictures, music and video through DLNA. So, if you wanted to show a powerpoint presentation from your phone for example, this app wouldn't be able to do this.

There is an app coming soon called "Nokia Beamer". It's already available for the Lumia 1520 as this new phone is already running the Lumia Black update, which is required to enable this app to work. All other phones should be receiving Black early next year. This app should let you beam the screen you are looking at, straight onto a PC, Laptop or Tablet. If you were beaming it to say a laptop, you would just connect your laptop through HDMI to the TV for example, and whatever is on your phones screen would be displayed on your TV.

Dude! Great answer! Love this forum!

No problem :) It would indeed be nice to have for example, a single adapter cable (like this MHL/HDMI adapter) that enables you to connect straight from the phone to a TV with a HDMI cable. Hopefully one day we will see Lumia phones which are compatible with MHL or something similar.
