Protruding Camera Lens

Is anyone else concerned about this? I've had a Palm Pre with a recessed lens and that was a pain because it would get dirty and would be impossible to clean without disassembly. However, this alternative has me concerned that it always hits the surface it's sat down on, and also my finger seems to naturally go right to it while I'm using the phone. I need to clean it before I use it, which presents the problem of scratching while cleaning it with my shirt.

I suppose the alternative is always laying it facedown, but alas, I dealt with scratched screens on my Pre and am wary of doing that as well. I'd rather not get a case (due to no good options that I've seen so far) or screen protector.
