There is a skype-related issue with the proximity sensor on my Lumia 525. Running the app, just once after installation, causes the proximity sensor to not work during all calls (gsm/skype/viber). Rebooting the phone temporarily solves the issue, but it comes back after a day or two.
I found this issue before on my Lumia 520 with WP8. Now i'm on WP8.1 update 1, and there have been many updates to skype, i even have a different phone, but needless to say, the issue is still there.
Uninstalling skype, however, fixes the issue permanently. Is there any other fix to this issue?
