Hello,
Recently (specifically, 72 hours or so back), I bought a Nokia 1520 (this is the RM - 937_apac_HK_222 variant). I am located in the UK.
As soon as I got the phone, I enabled PfD - though unfortunately I did not make a note of the OS version that came installed. Regardless, there were three long and many times nerve-wracking updates which went off successfully. My apps were all successfully installed and the phone runs normally - no problematic screen/ touch issue etc. The only thing I noticed was that on medium-to-hard use (with all notifications excluding NFC and BT on), the phone ran for about 9 hours and ended with 45% at which point I put in to charge. The other thing is that compared to the 830 that I used to use and which I gave to away to a family member, the radio signals (Mobile and WIFI) don't seem very strong at all.
Today, after I checked for updates, I was looking for the OS version and noticed two things. First, Extras+Info says I have Cyan, which I was expecting because I have been reading about it on Reddit. But when I checked Setting>About>More Info, I find that the OS version is listed as 8.10.14219.341. I checked online and I found this: FAQ - Microsoft - UK.
What is interesting is the first line, which reads as follows: "Lumia software update OS version 8.10.14219.341 (formerly Denim)..."
Denim???? I though Denim was only released to the 1520s using the Finnish ROM! And, what does MS mean exactly when they say "formerly Denim"? Formerly? What is it now then if not Denim???
You see the source of my confusion? Anyone with any insights about this? Thanks in advance.
Edit: Well, according to the Wikipedia page, this version (OS version 8.10.14219.341) was released on Dec. 05, 2014. (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Phone_version_history#Windows_Phone_8.1). So, this is Denim and the latest version of it? Then what is the version that the 1520s in Finland are getting? This is really getting confusing - at least to me!
