Question about Samsung and OS's

My daughter wants to get off of Android. She has a Droid Ultra right now and doesn't like Droid anymore. She said she wants a Samsung. Other than WP, what other OS does Samsung run? I knew they used to do their own OS a while ago, but I thought they dropped that since becoming a Droid partner.

What OS does Samsung support other than Droid and WP?

Those are still "Droid"/Android ROMs. There hasn't been a real cross-platform phone since maybe the HP Touchpad (ok its a tablet), HTC HD2, etc.

Samsung has a phone with their "Tizen" OS, but I doubt its much of an option.

Primarily its skinned Android with WP more of a hobby. although saying "hobby" implies its something they like to do.

The Samsung Z should be available soon, it'll be released in Russia first, and the runs Tizen. Tizen is the same OS that powers their Gear Smartwatches.

Samsung has announced the new Tizen phones recently, but not yet available in the market. But I think that Tizen is still too new to be used. Don't be a guinea pig for that. Your daughter might kill it in 2 days!
