Question Regarding SD Cards, App Data, and Moving to a New Phone

Hey, everyone. I just picked up a new (green!) 1520 and was going to start the process of moving over to it. I do have one concern that regards a game that I've invested quite a bit of time into. My worry is that when I move my SD card over to the new phone, my app data won't be recognized and I'll have to start over. I've done a few searches on here and have read that the phone wouldn't recognize data on an SD card and thus would ask to reformat the card. I'm really hoping that I can somehow save my game's progress and avoid this scenario.

Does anyone have input to share regarding moving from an 8.1 SD-enabled phone to another? Your help is greatly appreciated.

It would recognise the card, just get you to reinstall your apps. Photos and music should be recognised straight away.

Thanks, David. What about app data, like a save file? Will that stay and be recognized on the new phone? The game in question is Angry Birds Epic, so no Xbox and as far as I know no cloud save support at the moment.
