try as i might, i couldnt get a reminder to occur every two weeks -
tried writing it - tried with cortana - tried with the calendar itself.
is there a way to remind me to do something every other thursday or every two weeks?

I believe you can do this with Outlook calendar (either on PC or online on your phone)...
alternatively, for a reminder, try ReAlarm app which allows custom settings.

NOT the calendar on your phone, OUTLOOK.com

ReAlarm WORKS ! I use it instead of the native calendar app

i found that same way just before i came back to this post and saw your reply...
i was able to go to the calendar.live.com website on my phone(after it asked me if i REALLY wanted to go there!) and get the reminder to set for "weekly" and then used every "2" weeks on the day i wanted.
I saved it - went back to my calendar app and saw it was updated there too...
success :)

Glad it's sorted and I'll press the Thanks button on MDK22's posts for you. :winktongue:

It is a valuable tip after all...

:) i did however find it BEFORE i came back and saw his reply - found it on the discussions.nokia.com website....

Ah right... So that makes his advice meaningless. Thanks. I Like that. I'll certainly keep that in mind.

YES,that's what I told him the first time ! (facepalm)

I have been using the app Taskete with great success. Just downloaded 8.1 and love Cortana for making simple reminders and thought she might replace Taskete, but until she can make recurring reminders, I'll be keeping Taskete.
