Repair 950XL front camera - anyone done it?

Hey all.

I've mentioned previously that my Dual-SIM 950XL's front camera is no longer working (goodbye Windows Hello!) Error code (if anyone wants it) is 0xA00F4271(0xC00D3704).

I've been looking at videos on how to remove/replace the camera and IR sensor. Has anyone else done this? It looks pretty easy (and yes, I've done laptop repair/upgrades).

I have removed that module on one of my water damaged 950 XLs and it really is not that hard. The ribbon I believe slips underneath the little circuit board there and that is really the only hard part, is prying up that board to feed the ribbon out from it. Might need a heat gun to make it easier. I have replaced screens multiple times on the 950 XL and a heat gun helps to remove the shielding comfortably and to be able to apply it back fully.

Nate: did you have the same error code, and did that fix the issue?

I want to know if this is a camera hardware issue or something with the main board (which would be more of a PITA to replace).

I never had error codes while using my front facing camera, I was only sharing that I have removed it and reassembled it back before.
