Restart time

I'm getting times 17, 20, 33, 47 seconds. I don't understand why it can vary so much. I'm not talking about "update & restart", just plain restart.

The whole "kernal" thing I would bet. My Viao gets to the start screen about the same time everytime. But, it isn't always ready for me to go. Sometimes it is but not always. I don't know what the process is for starting up, but I bet the sequence of programs shutting down has something to do with how they come up. Also depending if it is looking for updates or god know what else during certain starts. Just a wag but maybe.

Sounds to me like you have an app in the way. Go to the task manager and click the STARTUP tab. Take a look at any programs that have a high impact. I would suggest having no more than ONE program with a high impact. If you have more than one, pick the one that is the most important and disable the others and just start them when you need them.

Yeah, somethings wrong. From power button press to lock screen is 7 seconds for me.

I also have slowness in starting. It seems to hang at surface screen for 10 seconds most times.
