Past
So many cool devices, thank you
@Zac Bowden for a retro.
Would have bought the Nokia McLaren, Surface Mini and Surface Andromeda at launch immediately.
How I wish there would have been a Surface Mini-sized Windows tablet with the awesome and underrated touch-first UI and UX of Windows Phone as well as Windows 8 back over a decade ago. Nokia Lumia had one, but that was way larger.
Present
Currently, there's a few exotic handheld makers (onexplayer mini) that make Windows-based "tablets" (with attachable controllers) in that compact size. However, Windows 11 lacks a good touch-first UI and UX option.
Future
So I'm currently hoping for an or the Xbox Handheld, with the added option for the "classic" Windows mode or at least full desktop-based browsers and Add-ons, say if docked - and while we're at the wishlist, make it 5G for the game streamers, but also add a phone stack to make and receive calls...
Power-sipping x86 Lunar Lake SoC with its awesome 140V iGPU and 8000+MHz RAM would be ideal, or maybe even a Snapdragon X Gen2 SoC, provided they can improve the game comparability (not talking about anti-cheat, but game-specific drivers, stutters, noticeable sudden frame drops or issues playing cut scenes).
