Roll back to Windows Phone 8?

I am starting to hate WP8.1. A notification center and see-through tiles are not worth my phone all of the sudden dying in 3 hours when its used to last 2 days without needing to be plugged in. On top of that it get steaming hot along the top part of the phone above the camera. I fear there will never be fixes for the issues that have been created with this below-par update. Is there a definitive way to roll back to Windows Phone 8? Maybe I am terrible at searching but i cannot find anything that makes any sense. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

My entire family and I are also furious about WP8.1 and want to roll back, but tech support said it was impossible. Is there a way to do it? We'd really like to go back to WP8.0.

get lumia recovery tool and download the 8.0 OS, don't bother making a back up
