Bought the phone a month ago. Came from android. I endured a whole three hours ( lol ) to start upgrading to 8.1 no matter how my friends told me to start a bit with 8.0 and get along with it for a some time.. Phone is great, fluid, fast, and reliable. Build is solid, even though phone is big and slim, you don't get the feeling it can be broken. It gets warm a lot of the time, almost at using tapatalk. I believe it will be solved with the offical 8.1 update. Same with some minor bugs there. Phone is slippery, so I bought some sylicon case, but it was LQ and not a big improvement.. Waiting to find some better. Batery life could be better, I'm counting on 8.1 update in that case too. And I'm in a search for a new, stronger battery. Camera quality is nice, specially front unit. Gaming experience is great on the big screen, but on the demanding apps like Asphalt 8, phone warms up to the almost boiling point, which got me scared some times. Readed about it, and generally everybody says that heating issue is not alarming one. Screen is very good for reading, outside viewing is also ok when you adjust the brightness. Sound quality is great, onon the speaker and on the headphones as well. Music app needs some more improvements, and MS updates it slowly. That's aboht it what I could remeber for now.

I had a nHTC 8X for two years. I was going to upgrade to the windows lumina icon. Then i happened to see the Samsung ATIV SE. I decided on the samsung instead. The Samsung ATIV SD is a windows phone on steroids. it is blazing fast. isn't too big. I have little or no probllem with texting and being asked to sign in because some of your accounts won't sync. i wholeheartedly recommend it. The only problem I have is it's so new it's hard to get accessories. I've been waiting 3 months for otterbox to come with a case for it

Having had the ATIV S Neo on Ma Bell, it was easy to pick up the SE on Big Red. All I can say is this device is a Tasmanian Devil on steroids. Feels so much faster than the 1520 and I love having the SD card and removable battery. Throwing caution to the wind and installing 8.1 in spite of the horror stories elsewhere on these boards.

Remember when you were a kid and your pops told you not to stick a penny in the socket?

That's how I felt after putting the DP on the SE. I didn't have any reboots or camera issues but I did get the "stuck on stupid" display 8 times in one day. Biting the bullet and getting another one because this beast it too good not to have. Only this time, I'll wait to see if Verizon gets their s**t together and releases 8.1 officially.

How does it do with fingerprints? Only thing I REALLY hate about my Lumia 635 is that I pretty much have to wipe it down after every use because all of the oils from your fingers end up on the screen.

Back into a sleepy Windows forum! [I have abandoned the Windows 8 forum because of lack of activity]

I've had my
Samsung ATIV SE for over a year, and I wish it was bigger, since I'm a man without pointy nails and large fingers. It seems all these phones are made for ladies with small finger tips or nails. Better in "landscape" mode but letter keys are too small. Also "Cortana" is a pian in the rear, interupts taking photos, and the only way to relieve this without turning her off. Bing seems to be an adequate search engine for this phone, but also use the "Google" app, which is better. Holds a charge a long time, but I am not a heavy user. Photos are nice, although not very fast in room light (gym lighting). Wish voice recognition worked better for e-mails and texting, and cannot add a voice text to photos if you use it for text or e-mail address. Unless Samsung comes up with an upgrade soon (December 2015). my next phone will be an iPhone or Android. It looks like Microsoft has missed the boat again.:unhappy:
