Screen tap registered as long touch ?

Hi.
I have a Lumia 720 here that has suddenly started registering screen taps as long presses, making the phone unusable.
Has anyone else experienced such an issue ?

Once you've wiped away all moisture, let your phone cool down, and still see that this problem is happening again, try a soft reset.
Of course, you can also check the touch settings under...settings.

Of course, you can always hard reset right away, but don't do it. Not yet.

Are all taps considered as long touches? Or only some?

There is a known issue with Lumia 520 (not sure about the 720), when the screen dims after a set period of time (25s if lockscreen setting is set to 30s),and when the user register a tap, it will consider the tap as long touch.

Might seem like a duh kind of comment, but also make sure your fingers aren't greasy, sweaty, or wet. Also do as WanderingTraveler has said.
