Screen turning to a bunch of question marks for a split second?

Sometimes when I change app or go back to the home screen, the screen becomes full of squares, looking like middle sized tiles, but without colors and with a question mark inside each of them. This only happens once in a while and lasts a split second so I can't really make a screenshot of it.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I bet you got low RAM phone (512mb) otherwise I don't know why would it happen

Still it's not everything. Depends on apps on screen and app that was in use. If Last used app had crashed, then wallpaper appears after a delay.

Yeah I have a 635 so 512 mb of RAM. But I'll try to see what app I'm using the next time. Maybe that's the answer.

If it's just the wallpaper not appearing then no biggie.

This morning it happened when I deleted an email. Going back to the list of emails. Weird :/

Yup its Weird!! can you get a screenshot??
You saw squares with question marks on Home Screen when deleting mail??
Can you tell me how many tiles are there on Home and how many are LIVE,Groups and other things. Whether Cortana is present..

That's weird. When I had a Motorola I would get grey, static-like bars covering the screen every so often, but I never figured it out. It always required a reboot on that phone.

I can't get a screenshot because it's random and too quick. I have about 30 tiles on my home screen, mostly live, no group nor Cortana.

Ice had that in Google mail app, but instead of question marks, they were search symbols

So something appears which is not supposed to be there! Just to confirm it, Will you tell us about OS/firmware versions or codename?

I actually have nothing more to suggest. Try soft reset [volume down + power for 10seconds] and if not then go for restore

Meh, it's not that big of a deal anyway and definitely not worth jumping through those hoops for it. ;)

Thanks anyway.
