Second hard reset

I did a hard reset after first installing 8.1. Got rid of the bugs, but the battery life still sucks. I installed the 8.1 update the day it came out, and the bugs are still gone but battery life isn't any better. I did a soft reset hoping it would help, but no go. I've been contemplating a second hard reset but I'm concerned it will be a waste of time. Has anyone else done a hard reset after getting the update and had any improvements?

Some people said to give it a few days, but it's been three days and no improvement.
