Select which PC's folder to Skydrive

Hi
AFAIK, one has to create a Skydrive 'folder' in Explorer and put things we want to sync with phone there.

Instead of dong that, is there a way to select some particular files or folders on PC for syncing and not having to do the above? Are there any apps for doing that?

What version of Windows are you running?

Windows 8/8.1 have metro SkyDrive apps.
There is a desktop SkyDrive app for Windows 7/Vista SP2. SkyDrive System Requirements - Microsoft Windows

I have installed skydrive apps on my Window 7. The Choose Folder option is greyed out. Can you advise me how to go about doing it?
