Send SMS from Windows 10 Messaging App

[Windows Central Question]

I have recently noticed that my business laptop has been receiving SMS messages via the cellular network from the HSPA+ card but when I open the messaging app it says "Read-only Message" even though when I receive the same message on my phone I can reply to it, so I am unable to send any messages via the app but only recieve is there any way of sending SMS from my Laptop?

Tell Cortana to"send text". She will use your phone.

Funny after reading this thread I checked on my tablet and I have sms messaging dating back to 2013.
the only way to reply on ur pc is to turn on the sms relay in the Skype app on ur phone or go into Cortana and sync ur sms notifications over to pc

I know I can send from my phone using Cortana but I would like to utilise the SIM in my laptop
