Hello all,

I have a quick question for you WP e-mail pros. I have two POP e-mails set up on my phone. I also have these e-mails set up on my laptop, one in Outlook Express (Personal) and the other in Outlook (Business). Out of curiosity I wanted to see if an e-mail I sent from my phone happened to be in my Outlook Express Sent Items folder on my laptop, it was not. It was, however, still on my phone. Is there a way to get the sent items, with attachments, off of my phone and into the sent items folder of Outlook and Outlook Express? Thanks for any assistance to all who can offer.

Dave

Not using Outlook anymore, but Windows Live (desktop) syncs all my messages, send, received, etc.

Sent from my HTC Surround using Board Express

It depends on your mail accounts and whether it supports the syncing of these things or not.

With my Live account, it syncs all my sent items into the sent folder and displays all folders in outlook just the same as the web. So I see sent items in the sent folder for my Live account in Outlook as well as on the web when I send from my phone.

Thanks for the prompt replies! I really gave not looked into the features and benefits of using my Live account beyond Skydrive for pictures/document storage and downloading of apps and music. It seems like Live is a good choice for my e-mail moving forward. Hope it can take the old e-mails off of my phone's sent items folder when I sync it with Live.

When you way POP do you actually mean POP? Because I'd think you'd want to be using IMAP to sync between all your email clients.

I have my work outlook account synced to my phone along with my hotmail and yahoo accounts. All are linked so I only have to deal with one in box.

When I orginate an email I am asked which account do I want to use. If I choose the outlook account my email is also synced to my sent folder at work.

Well I installed Windows Live Desktop and set up my e-mail accounts. The e-mails are still in the Sent Items folder of my phone. I contacted WP Support via Twitter and they suggested that I forward the e-mails. In an effort to not go through this exercise, I moved a few non-important e-mails from the Sent Items folder to the Inbox folder folder on my Phone. After doing this, I switched to the inbox folder and the e-mails were no where to be found. Switching back to the Sent Items revealed that they were gone as well. That was something I did not expect. Anyway, it's not a huge deal, I'll just take the time to forward them.

I think your problem stems from the fact that you are using POP. If you want all your devices and desktops synced, you need to be using IMAP. The way POP works is that it is device specific. What you do on your device won't get synced to the server so your other devices or desktop can't see what was done. With IMAP, the opposite is true. What you change on your device/desktop gets changed on the server.
