SERIOUS battery drain

So we all know about the battery issue with the device....here is my WORST experience with it so far.
I slept at 2am with the phone at 89%...
Woke up at 6am with 50% !!!
No apps running in the background. The phone is connected to our wifi most of of the time. Wasn't connected to xbox live. Location is on. Emails and accounts were set to sync to the longest intervals......im doing absolutely NOTHING to drain the phone.
....SO...SOME KIND OF MAGIC HAS TO BE INVOLVED RIGHT? There is no other explanation for this. Still love the phone though. ._.
