Settings and Info - Use 3G to change settings

I found this setting under Extra in the settings. Can anyone explain what it does?

maybe go to settings>extra>network services. there is a setting+info there

Me and Rumorednow do not have that switch and I am using a L830 RM-984

Strange. Does your phone support wifi calling on the 830? AT&T variant?

Probably it is just for T-Mobile into their sim card

I'm Canadian and I don't have wifi calling. I wonder if the wifi calling even exist in Canada. I am on the same built as you

I've got an 830 RM-985 with T-mobile SIM and my phone has this setting showing. I don't know what it does tho. I suppose you could tick the switch to 'On' and find out .. so --- go ahead and switch it to 'On' and report back. :smile:

that is what I thought a T-Mobile thing..

maybe it is only for wifi calling settings

Well --- maybe it's for WiFi calling even tho this 830 doesn't have it ....
... ok I switched the setting to 'On' --- only thing I can see is I no longer am connected to T-Mobile LTE .... now on T-Mobile 3G

Turned it off ... Back on LTE ... hmm --- wonder what's the purpose?

Same. I tried it and it looks like it makes it so you only connect to 3G, no 2G or 4G/LTE anymore.

you guys restarted the phone?
it says to change some settings. Have you look at the sim setting after?

unless it is just a switch to toggle between LTE and 3 g if you are inside of a building or out of LTE area
