the Lumia 520 is probably the most popular and most used windows phone currently out, but Microsoft needs better hardware for WP and one wonders shouldn't they make a nexus type device like Google does with android .Nexus devices are very popular because they have great specs and are priced aggressively wouldn't it be better if maybe they sold this nexus type WP instead of multiple entry level phone(520.530,635).I know Google does not make much of a profit on the Nexus phones but the phones sell like hotcakes and gives Google more market share and as a plus they have consumers with phones powerful enough to run all apps smoothly and more importantly Google services

The point of the Nexus line is to provide developers and consumers a chance of getting a real, unskinned Android device. This is not a problem in the WP world because all phones are unskinned. The experience between the L520 and the yet-to-be-released W8 is the same.

Having that said, it would be nice if Microsoft released a subsidized and unlocked device sold from their stores or online for little profit, like the Nexus, except that would hurt the sales of their other phones and would hurt the carriers and other OEMs who Microsoft is working with.

Microsoft needs the OEMs and the carriers. This does not affect Google because most OEMs don't want to make unskinned phones and the carriers cannot drop Android at this stage.
