Signal goes from 5 bars then quicky drops and stays at 3 bars...

Every time when I switch on the Lumia 520, it will immediately show that I have 5 bars but then a few seconds later it quickly drops and stays at 3 bars no matter where I go. I thought this might be due to my mobile network coverage so I took the sim out from the 520 and placed the sim onto another phone and I was surprised that it stayed on 5 bars. This makes me wonder whether this phone has a weak signal feature...does anyone have the same problem?
