Sim card undected after 7.8 update

Hi,

One of my friends phone (Lumia 900) does not detect the sim card after the 7.8 update. She has a Rogers Lumia 900 and she updated her phone today.

Does anybody else have this problem or is it only for her phone?

Is there a fix for it?

I would certainly try removing the SIM tray and cleaning the SIM card contacts (a pencil eraser is the time honoured method for doing this). Also worth checking that the same SIM card works in another phone.

Nope, none of the methods work. The sim card is fine, it works on my Lumia 920.

I'd be surprised if there was a physical fault with the phone that just happened to coincide with the update being applied. More likely something went wrong during the update. I think a hard reset is the next step.

Hard reset did not work either. Taking the phone to the store since she still has the warranty.
