Site Redesign

The site is EXTREMELY slow when loading. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. A site redesign would be awesome!! New Colors, Looks, Designs etc. Anyone agree?

We're always pushing enhancements and fixes for issues that come up. If you can give us any specifics or insights on what exactly might be causing the slowness on your end... we will investigate right away!!!

We've pushed a number of load time fixes over the past few months, since the redesign was put in place... and are keeping at it

I understand you guys want to push enhancements, but your site is a product. One thing that I've noticed with this redesign is that you've literally made it harder for users to actually CONSUME your product.

Click windows central>Scroll down latest stories>Click Next page>Click Next topic>

Repeat.

What makes this even more maddening to me is that I actually like visiting your site, I'm sure you like the impressions too. I took the time to basically trouble shoot a problem that I had seen with your site (and gave details on how to replicate it) - no response.

And it's sad that I'm saying this, but you (not your personally) made the problem I described above much worse by basically breaking the way your website is navigated. Go to theverge or engadget they make it easy for users to consume story after story after story.

I really don't understand it. You like people coming to your site, and I'm sure you like people reading as many stories as possible. I like doing that, I cannot fathom why someone would think it's a good idea to make that task more difficult.

@simbadogg - thanks again for all the feedback. We do appreciate it, even if it's negative. In fact, I prefer it as it helps us get to the heart of the issue and fix nagging issues. I've already talked to our tech team about your points above, and the points in the other thread you mentioned. Unfortunately we can't act INSTANTLY on all issues, but know we are looking and taking your recommendations very seriously.

In the meantime thanks again, and thanks in advance for your patience. We always want to make the site better for everyone. Making something hard and counter-intuitive to use does not make any sense for us, nor our members.

I think the site content is great by the way, but I don't know if its all the ads or what but it doesn't load very quickly on my WP or even on the desktop browser. Like when I pull up a site like anandtech it seems to load quite a bit faster on my phone and navigate more reliably.

But I'm not sue how much control you have over the ads since that is what is keeping the site going, but I'd like to see a simpler design but I know that is easier said that done because you don't just cover Windows Phone anymore. More content more problems I suppose!
