Is everyone's phone slow to charge? I have never seen a phone that takes so long to charge.

My iphone would be half way in under and hour. It has been 2 hours and the lumia is just a quarter charged.

I am noticing the same thing. Must be due to the huge battery this thing has.
As I understand it LTE uses a lot of energy so therefore need a larger battery and this takes more charge to get to full.

My Focus is the same way, and I think it's because the charger only puts out 0.7amps compared to most chargers that put out 1.0amps Check your wall charger and see how much it puts out.

It takes a while, battery is not THAT huge but it does take a little longer than I would like. Luckily it provides great battery life. I've gotten 17 hours with medium/high use under HSPA+ and wifi.

Yes -- especially if connected to a computer USB port.

I really do wish the phone had an external LED light showing charging status, messages, etc.

Also, I am not digging the included white USB cord and wall charger. My phone is black. The accessories (including for cyan model) should all be color-coordinated. A company like Nokia should know better.

Laptops put out much less current through the USB ports meaning it will take much longer. The included wall charger is a 1A rating, which is on the higher side.

This phone charges faster then any phone I've ever had. From 8% I was at 100% using the included Nokia Rapid Charger in 1 hour and 58 minutes.

If you are charging your phone via PC it may never charge. My Samsung Focus would spend days hooked up to a PC and barley be able to hold it's current charge let alone actually charge it.

Make sure to use the included charger and you should be fine.

PC most definitely slow. My wall charger and the charger from my Bionic actually juice this baby up pretty quickly.

Slow charging is by design. Increasing the current to make the battery charge faster actually decreases it's lifespan and with the Lumia's non user replaceable battery I would recommend using a Nokia charger.

The included charger puts out 1amp it says on mine.

I have noticed it is very slow to charge especially in comparison to the iPhone 4 I had. Charging on USB from a PC is even quite painful. I used to only charge my iPhone off of my laptop and it was pretty quick to charge to nearly full. But the Lumia just puts along. It's a little faster on the a/c adapter but I don't feel that much.

Now, at work today I was actually messing with some chargers I have for electronic pipettes I use. I saw one of them uses micro-USB. That adapter is rated at 5V and 1.2amp. I charged my Lumia on that and it charged really quickly from about 40% to over 90% in just under an hour.

The battery might also need some time to work up to max charge capacity. It's also a pretty large battery pack so that also I guess makes it take longer.

I think something is wrong with your charger or the battery, I have charged my phone, twice now, from dead to 100% full in just about 2 hours flat -- wall charger only. Same thing with my wife's phone. You should definely get that checked out.

I hope your not charging it via your computers USB connection, that's probably the worst way to charge mobile devices.

Anyway, I charge my mobile devices via my 2 amp HP touchpad wall charger and they are quick to charge. My Lumia charges about an hour like this and that's almost from zero charge.

It looks like 2 hours is the average time to charge. My old Palm Pre Plus would charge fully in 1 hour, so this will take some getting used to. However, if it will just last me through the day on one charge (I hear the longer you have your phone, the longer the battery lasts--mine is a few days old), I'll be happy, as it's no problem to let it charge while I'm sleeping.

However, my phone did not last through the day today (lasted about 6 1/2 hrs), but I did talk for about 2 hrs, sent about 30 texts, checked the Facebook App for Windows, played a few games of Duudle, a couple web searches, browsed a few apps and played Words by Post throughout the day, so it got a lot of use.

Mine charges greaat on the wall chargerwhich came with it. Charges well with my chaarger from the samsung focus. The white charger and cabel dont bother me at all I just want it to work and if it does its fine with me regardless of what the color is.

I charge mine with an iPad charger, it charges pretty quickly. Yesterday, my phone was practically dead, and I plugged it in for 10 minutes or so and it went from 2-3% to 30-40% in 10 minutes.

The 2A iPad charger might be overkill. Charge too fast and you generate heat which Li-ion batteries do not like.

I've found the included adapter and Apple a/c adapter both charge the Lumia at the same leisurely rate.

But I'm still confused because the Lumia barely charges off of my laptop USB ports at all while my iPhone charges just as fast from the USB ports as it does off any a/c adapter.

The batteries in idevices were specifically designed (not sure if patented) to allow a quick charge up to 80% in an hour and then slow charge the rest of the way. Can't find the source, but I read it somewhere before.

Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express

I've done it since I had gotten the phone, it's never warm when it charges. I've charged it with an iPhone charger, and it feels like it hardly charges. I've charged it with my iMac and it seems as though it charges at the same rate it goes with the iPad charger. I could be wrong, I guess it's time for an experiment!

I have a message that pops up saying that I am slow charging and need to connect the phone charger that came with my device. My device is a Lumia icon, that I recently updated to 8.1. It has had many bugs since and I have hacks to fix them all. I've found that in the event of the slow charge and a hot battery, that a restart of my phone corrects the problem. One of the bugs accompanied with this restart is, when you restart your phone you must have the charger unplugged or the phone will never fully shut down and you will incur the same problem. I know it is a bug because even with the 1 amp Nokia charger that came with the phone, it still would not work properly. This solved my problem and I hope it solves yours! Have a great day all!
