Small blue text in texts

Overall I enjoy my L521, but one of the frustrations is the tiny blue text that is nearly impossible to read in a new SMS. The text is OK when I open the message, and is also OK on the Messaging home page once it's been opened (and changes to white type). But the combination of blue text and small font can make it nearly impossible to read, especially in well-lit conditions. Is there a fix for this? (I tried changing text size under Ease of Access in Settings, but that doesn't affect the text size in the Messaging "home page."

Yeah, not quite sure how to describe. When I click on the Messaging tile and it shows all the threads--the new ones are in blue text, which is what I find really hard to read against the black background. Changing either the font size or color would help, but I can't figure out how. (Actually the same issue occurs with email.)

For Color - Settings->Theme adjust your color
For Font Size - Settings->Ease of Access->Text Size - this will change Font Size has needed.

Thanks, everyone. I really like cyan for the theme, but it's hard to read as text; colors that are easier to read as text don't look as good for the tiles. I then tried changing the background to light, and again the overall feel for the tiles page wasn't as pleasing. So I decided instead to go with larger text. Since it affects all text, it means that I have less space for email and texts, but I think it may be the best tradeoff. Like so much in life, I guess it's all about choosing the best compromise!

Why don't to try and switch the background to white instead of the default black? That might help as well.
