I disagree with the idea for the reasons I outlined in my reply to his thread. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

He's right from the stand point that there are a lot of complaint. Some are legit, some aren't. Since there are so many phones, you would need one for each phone and I doubt they would want to add that many sub forums.

He actualy sent me a PM and told me to delete his account. This is the second time he has done this. Right now he is mad because I gave him a warning about bypassing the curse filter. That is what set him off. I discussed it with James and he left it up to me. I have been hesitating all day waiting to see if he changed his mind. What do you guys think should I give him the ax? I just hate removing someone with more than 1000 post. What a waist.

Regarding the sub forum that is not going to happen no matter what the vote is. We will continue to monitor threads remove the ones that are trolls and support a civil conversation of the facts in the ones that aren't. That is what forum life is all about and people like socialcarpet need to thicken their skin or skip threads they cant react well to.

I'd rather have him around if he calms down. He's actually better than inteller IMO, but just tends to take things too personal sometimes.

He's online right now too. I agree that the complaints are a bit much. I've been on another forum and seen this site referenced as evidence of all the problems with WP. I don't really know what we can do about it except try to keep the discussion civil. Hopefully Microsoft will push some updates that will address some of the complaints.

I sent him a PM last night he has not responded to me yet. I have set a deadline of noon if I don't get a response he will be banned from WPC for sure maybe even NW. I haven't decided that one yet. If he decides to stay it will be under my close supervision. I doubt he will agree with my request and he will be gone later today for good.


As per the *****ing threads I say welcome to forum life. Its the same everywhere I go. Like Scott said all we can do is trump the trolls and keep the honest discussions civil until the points of contention are addressed by the phone manufacturer or Microsoft. Move, merge, and close whenever necessary.

I don't use PDF on a phone very much, but my suspicion is that a lot of people who are complaining about PDF are business users and probably use it much more frequently.

Back to Dave's comment, I believe one could find something to complain about anything, when there is a comparison between two similar but different things, whether it's smartphones or anything else.

For example, I could easily complain about print-to-file features if I compare Linux and Windows. In Linux, I can use print to file to save a webpage as a PDF natively. In Windows, there is no native print to file that saves a webpage as a PDF; I had to download and install software called CutePDF Writer to do in Windows what Linux does natively. So does that mean Windows sucks? No, but if I were the complaining type, I'd say it's extra work to find extra software for Windows to do what Linux does natively and whine incessantly about it. Some people look for solutions and are happy when solutions are found. Other people just like to complain.

For me it's not so much the complaining as much as it is the Chicken Little, "OMG the sky is falling," reaction.

"I tried to <insert needlessly complicated method> and it didn't work. This OS is garbage!!! I'll never recommend it to anyone"

Yeah, Microsoft has some bugs to iron out. And those minor/major nitpicks will be fixed in time. But the OS can definitely handle the daily needs of most smartphone users.
