New or old? Got a replacement. If old, which knowing my luck it is...what is the new version number?

That's the Windows Phone 8 OS version number. I don't believe there is a newer version. What Firmware version are you on? Nokia care would have updated your phone to the latest version before they sent out your replacement.

The new OS is 8.0.10211.204 You should get an update notification in the store tile in a day or so or you can look up on this forum on how to update it on your own. I'd just a soon wait for the notice.

Only US and Canada L920s got the update.
