Hi, the dual sim Lumia 630 is not sold in UK. But I got one off ebay, it looks like a Hong Kong or Chinese version.

During initial set up both UK sims were installed. Both showed full signal. The first question on setup is to choose language (or region maybe, I cant recall exactly).

Once setup finished, the second sim is not working. It's showing no signal in the status bar and going into setting confirms.

I live in central London, and have another phone on the same network as the 2nd sim in the 630. So there is definitely signal.

So why would this be happening?

I am currently thinking that setting the language/region to UK has disabled the second sim. Could this be the case? Can anyone else confirm?

If so, I wonder exactly what setting disables the second sim, language or region. I will have to play.

Any info on this would be appreciated. Its a rip off that the UK version is single sim only, and I'm quite annoyed if for some reason nokia/microsoft disabled the second sim for uk users. People genuinely need 2 sims!

SOLVED: The error seems to be when using Sims from Three.

Try to swap your region and see if that fixes it. But I think, such info is read from your SIM, not your phone.

Cheers rockstarzzz. So I tried this, following the Cortana 'hack'. Cortana works now, so the phone is technically set up as a US phone. The second sim still doesn't work.

But it seems the error lies with Three UK. Both Sims I was trying were from Three, and the error message that came up was "Can't register SIM 2 The cellular network you selected isn't available. Do you want to select another network?". I then tried an old T-Mobile sim and it works, even after setting back to UK region settings.

Great news is Dual Sim works in UK. Shame it seems Three doesn't support it or something.
