Some missing features

I'm planing to buy a WP device for quite a long time. But there are some little things that always set me back (beside the price).
For instance, today I just realised how much I would miss the FM Radio transmitter that I have on my N8.
Riding a bus, the driver shuffles between the radio stations, can't find what he likes, and I just pulled my N8 out, turned the transmitter on and instantly started having fun with it.

One other feature I would also miss is the USB OTG feature. You could LITERALLY make a computer out of your mobile phone.
Connect a monitor(TV) via HDMI, a mouse and a keyboard via Bluetooth and USB (that's what I'm talking about, you could plug in other devices to your device which would act as a host),
and voila - there you have your computer.
Not to mention that you could plug in nearly anything, from keyboards, mouses and other small devices to other phones and flash drives.

So I'm also wondering, is this a hardware of a software problem? Does WP already support any of these two features but the manufacters are just lazy to make use out of it, or they don't want to put it in because it would need a software update (like GDR2/Amber for FM Radio)?

First, allow me to point you in the right direction. If you have features you'd like to see, post in this thread: http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-phone-8/210477-official-what-wp-needs-succeed.html

Yeah, I don't see the point of that topic clearly. It's not an official MS topic (correct me if I'm wrong), so, no matter how good the ideas are guys from MS won't come there to see what to do.
I think the windowsphone.uservoice.com is used for that. But anyway I didn't even want to suggest it but rather just get some info.

Second, WP isn't meant to be a computer replacement, just like an iPhone isn't. It's a consumer device with some productivity apps. It's a device for the masses. As for adding those features, we'll just have to see what WP8.1 brings.
Well, phones will never fully replace computers, why not keep improving? That's not a good reason to remove those features on purpose. Anyway, I agree, let's just see what 8.1 brings :)

Depends what you mean by improving I guess. To a lot of people, file mangers, USBOTG, keyboards and mouse support is beyond what a smartphone should be. They see this as old school and the 'new' thinking of smartphones is where things should be. They find those things messy and unnecessary.

I used to have a N8 prior to getting a WP. I liked all the features it had but rarely used them, if at all. I used the HDMI port once. I tried out the mouse once and I used USBOTG once. I liked the file manager but again, not something I used all the time. They were 'nice to have' features. The smartphones of today are being made for the most common denominator, not the whatever % that wants to play with extras or dig deep.

Not that there shouldn't be options I'm just saying that's where the thinking comes from.
