I was listening to an Adam Carolla podcast this afternoon. They got off onto the topic of smartphones and were talking about the larger, phablet sized devices and they had the following exchange:
Adam: Every once in a while I see a guy with one of those (larger screen phones) and I go: ?Oh, I kind of like that.?
Alison: Mike August (one of the show's producers) has a non-Apple product, right?
Adam: Yeah, and he uses the s*** out of it. He uses it in a way that makes you want to use it too. The screen is big, it?s very clear. It?s got all these do-dads and whistles on it. You kind of look at it and go: ?That does look a little better than my ?cool-guy? phone.?
Alison: I had a Blackberry and I have to admit. I mean, I like the iPhone better, but the Blackberry was easier to type on because it had a keyboard.
Adam: Dawson, what have you got?
Dawson: I?ve got the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Adam: Do you like it?
Dawson: Yeah, I do. I love it. It?s huge.
Adam: Is that the one Mike has?
Dawson: I don?t know. I haven?t seen Mike?s.
Some other other guy in the studio: No. Mike has a Windows Phone.
BAM!
For those who don't follow Adam Carolla, he's a comedian. It's not a technology podcast at all. It was just a spontaneous, non-biased observation from someone who didn't know what it was, but he just knew he liked it. It totally took me by surprise and it was kind of cool. Just thought I'd share.
