Sooo I benchmarked IE on the Xbox One using sunspider...

Kind of a silly test. I got 2300ms. Which is actually surprisingly slow considering the 8 core CPU, 8GB ram, and AMD graphics card. Windows phone with last year's dual core snapdragon gets 900ms. It must be a very stripped down/unoptimized version of IE

Hmm.. well the sites I've been to on XBOX One IE have been pretty good... I'll use that as my basis

Are you very familiar with this test? While not a perfect example, it is pretty realistic to javascript performance.

From my own experience, my tablet get around a 2300ms also and my phone gets 900ms. The difference is noticeable in real life applications. Granted, there are others things at play as well.

I don't really have a point. I just thought it would be fun to try it. And I didn't see that information anywhere, so I figured I'd post it. That's all

edit: If anything, it just means there is a lot more potential in software and the browser has HUGE room for improvement over the next 6+ years of it's life

Like Blacklac said...try loading the same page on a browser which scores 900ms and one that scores 2300ms, with the same internet connection. You'll notice the difference.
